About Southern Wellness
The people behind the pour
Southern Wellness Clinic was created with one goal in mind: to make personalized wellness care feel comfortable, approachable, and accessible to our community. Meet the nurses who built it — and the physician who guides it.
Owners
Kayla has been a nurse since 2015, with much of her career spent in emergency medicine and travel nursing. After earning her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2020, she continued serving patients in both emergency medicine and the wellness and weight loss setting.
Kayla lives right here in Chapel Hill with her fiancé, whom she will marry this October. A proud Texas native, she enjoys horseback riding, spending time at the lake, traveling, and cheering on her fiancé at tractor pulls. Family, friends, and community are at the heart of everything she does.
Holly has been a nurse for nearly 20 years, with most of her career spent in emergency medicine. After graduating nursing school in 2006, she later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University and developed a passion for wellness, weight loss, and preventative care.
A lifelong Middle Tennessee resident, Holly lives in College Grove with her husband, their two children, Eli and Lainey Mai, and their two dogs, Honey and Ralph. When she's not caring for patients, you'll find her cooking, spending time with family and friends, cheering on the TN Vols, or working in aesthetic nursing.
Medical Director
Dr. Kyle Kakac has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, with a background in emergency medicine, concierge care, and healthcare leadership. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and has called Middle Tennessee home for the past 11 years.
In recent years, his passion has shifted toward wellness and preventive care, and he is proud to serve as the Medical Director for Southern Wellness Clinic, helping patients take a proactive approach to living healthier lives.

How we practice
Education, transparency, and informed choice
Every patient receives a medical evaluation, honest education about their treatment options, and informed consent before beginning treatment — in a welcoming, small-town setting.
Evaluated
Every treatment plan starts with a real medical evaluation — never a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Educated
We explain your options plainly, including what's FDA-approved and what isn't, so you can decide with confidence.
Empowered
Your care, your choice — with informed consent and a team that treats you like a neighbor.
